Don't Settle For The Gerbil Wheel of Performance
Don’t settle for a second-hand faith or the mere contact highs of worship, outside looking in. Don’t settle for the playpen of your religion when you are invited to fly into the vast wonder of the Presence of the Eternal.
You are beloved of God. Don't mistake these temporal imitations for the eternal reality.
The liminal way is stillness, where like the eye of the needle, we must unload our ego to enter in…we are saved by the skin of our teeth so that we might walk with God in the cool of the day.
‘Come, come to me, all who are weary and heavy-laden and I will give you rest.’
We enter into our rest, into that eternal transforming love of God.
Day by day we are unmade, undone much like the caterpillar who spins a cocoon of transformation where its body is being dissolved and the cells that know how to fly, weave and create a butterfly.
In our cocoon of stillness, we evolve under the eternal hands of the Master. We are fitted and changed into light, becoming life-giving spirits.
We integrate this life by working out the grace God has worked within us. We work out the eternal into this life…eating our way out of the cocoon, tasting and developing the eternal character of love, joy, and peace, healing and integrating our ego into its place as our servant only as we are led by the Spirit of love.
We stretch the wings of our eternal nature with patience, kindness, and goodness, growing gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control.
Come and let us fly. Fly as life-giving spirits, having the nature of both earth and heaven.
For we are in Christ and Christ is in us. Christ the last Adam who as a life-giving spirit births heaven into us. Go and do likewise.
Breathe heaven into this world.
And may Love form your path,
Joy fill your soul,
And Peace be the work of your hands.
