Our proof texts are the love of God written on our hearts and flowing from our lives.
In the bigger picture, Evangelicals pin everything on Jesus, Pentecostals pin everything on the Holy Spirit, and Liturgical Churches pin everything on God our Father. Stay with me in this.
Jesus working manifests through Revival, bringing us alive in Christ, and into the Body of Christ.
The Holy Spirit manifests through Renewing us, gifts, callings, fruit, and wisdom.
Our Father manifests restoring us to God’s original intent. We become life-giving spirits.
How does God work in and through you? Through revival, renewal, or restoration or all three…revival as a worker, or servant, renewal as an mentoring expert, or through restoration as a spiritual artist, mystic, creating with your Creator?
As God is One, we’ve drawn these distinctions for your edification, highlighting the church systems we have built from God’s working through us through the centuries constructing theologies, and building denominations. We generally can’t see beyond these distinctions.
Three In One
We need God’s perspective, participating, and seeing from the Perichoresis of God’s wholeness as one. The mystic who lives in the choreography of God experiences all and honors the synthesis of each aspect of God’s working. We cease merely pointing to Jesus, to come in the presence of Christ.
St. Paul brings it all together in his blessing: May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
Love Brings It All Together
As God is a consuming fire, burning the chaff, deconstructing us from our ego, so that love is God’s passion in our hearts, a reviving force, a renewing force, and a restoring force in our lives.
Love deconstructs us from our ego so God can walk through.
Love Does
Blessed are you bringers of heaven,
You peacemakers
Christ-bears,
Life-givers,
You who bear
Living waters
that quicken the hearts
and enliven the spirits
of weak and weary souls.
You breakers of chains
You givers of hope
You who breath life
into the faint-hearted,
You who lighten the eyes
and gladden the hearts
of humble and gentlefolk.
For you are the light of the world,
And the salt of the earth,
And the glory of God
that heals us whole.
Love Never Fails
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in injustice, but rejoices in the truth.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails.
Blessing
Now may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
